Renting and prices
How do I rent a Game Ready unit?
Book online using our booking form. Tell us which area you need to treat, whether it's for an injury or surgery, how long you need it and your start date.
You then pay securely by card and we confirm your booking and arrange delivery.
You can also phone us on 041 213 6470 and we'll get it sorted for you.
How much does it cost?
The minimum rental is 2 weeks for €300. A monthly rental is €500. If you need it for longer, you can add extra weeks for €100 per week.
Prices include delivery, a prepaid return label and a new sleeve for your wrap. An additional charge may apply if you want your rental to start on a weekend.
One therapy wrap is included in the above pricing. If you need more than one wrap, additional wraps are available for €75 per wrap. The full leg wrap costs €100. We can also provide a dual hose if you want to use two wraps at the same time.
What's included in the rental?
You get the Game Ready GRPro 2.1 control unit, the wrap for your treatment area (for example knee, hip or ankle) with a brand-new sleeve, a power supply, a connector hose and a user guide. Additional wraps are €75 each.
We also give you full setup instructions, and our team is available to answer any questions you have.
How can I pay?
You pay by credit or debit card at the time of booking. Payment is taken securely through Stripe. Bookings aren't dispatched until they have been paid for.
Do I need a prescription?
No. You don't need a prescription to rent Game Ready, but many surgeons and physiotherapists recommend it as part of a post-operative recovery plan. Always follow your clinician's advice on how to use it.
My physio or surgeon gave me a clinic code. Where do I use it?
Enter it in the Clinic code box on the booking form. You can also add your doctor's name in the Doctor field.
Is it covered by VHI, Laya or other private health insurance?
No, it isn't covered directly. However, you can contact your health insurer and ask whether they will reimburse the cost under your plan.
You can also claim it back as a medical expense, as long as you have a letter from your doctor or physio. Keep your booking receipt.
A full receipt covering your booking and any extensions is issued automatically by our system when the unit is returned to us.
Delivery and returns
How is the unit delivered, and how quickly?
We deliver nationwide to your home or clinic with DPD, our delivery partner. Please allow 1–2 working days after your booking is confirmed. If you book in advance, we deliver on the start date you choose.
On the day of delivery, DPD will text you with a delivery time window.
You can also collect the unit from our office in Duleek, Co. Meath, on the day you book. Collection must be confirmed with us first: call 041 213 6470 or mention it in the special requests box when you book. The office closes at 4pm, so please collect before then.
You get an extra day's rental free of charge when you collect the unit from our office, and another free day when you drop it back.
Can my rental start on a weekend?
Yes, in many cases. An additional charge applies only where we have to pay DPD's surcharge for Saturday delivery. DPD don't deliver to every area on Saturdays, and Saturday delivery isn't guaranteed. If you pay the surcharge and your unit isn't delivered on the Saturday, we'll refund it.
Sometimes we can arrange for you to collect from our Duleek office at the weekend instead. This depends on our team's availability, and there is no extra charge.
Can I collect it instead?
Yes. You can collect from our office in Duleek, Co. Meath. Our opening hours are 9am to 4pm. Collection outside these hours can sometimes be arranged, depending on our team's availability. Mention it in the special requests box when you book, or call us on 041 213 6470.
We can have it ready for collection on the day you book, but collection must be confirmed with us first, and the office closes at 4pm, so please collect before then.
You get an extra day's rental free of charge when you collect the unit from our office, and another free day when you drop it back.
How do I return it?
Keep the box your Game Ready arrives in, as you'll use it to send the unit back.
- Put all the items back into the Game Ready bag.
- Take the prepaid An Post return label out of the hood of the machine.
- Put the machine back into the box your rental arrived in. If you've thrown the box out, use another box big enough to hold the machine, as it needs to travel back well protected.
- Stick the address label to the outside of the box.
- Bring it to your post office, where they'll scan it in.
Keep your return receipt until you get our automated email confirming that your return has arrived at our office.
I've thrown out the box. What do I do?
You'll need to get another box to send the unit back in. Choose a sturdy box big enough to hold the machine, and fill any gaps with padding so it travels back well protected. We can't supply a replacement box.
Then follow the usual return steps.
What happens if I return it late?
Late return fees apply to machines that aren't returned on time. The charges are set out in our terms of rental. If you need it for longer, extend your rental instead.
Using Game Ready
Is it easy to set up?
Yes. Most people are up and running within minutes. The rental includes a step-by-step guide, and our setup videos and wrap guides show you how to fit your wrap.
How often should I use it?
We recommend sessions of 30 minutes, with at least 1 hour between sessions. To get the full benefit, use it at least 4 times a day. Follow any specific guidance from your surgeon or physiotherapist.
Can I use it overnight?
No. Don't use Game Ready while you're asleep.
What if I have a problem using it?
Call us on 041 213 6470. Our phones are answered from 9am to 5pm. Outside those hours, leave a message with your question. We do pick up messages and will call you back. You can also email gameready@platform20.ie.
Extensions, hygiene and damage
What if I need it for longer?
Extend your rental online using the rental extension form, or the link in the email we send you as the end of your rental approaches. Each extra week costs €100. Please extend at least 24 hours before your return date.
Are the wraps clean and safe?
Yes. Every wrap is professionally cleaned and disinfected after each use, and every rental comes with a brand-new sleeve.
The sleeve is the part that touches your skin, so a new one matters, especially after surgery. If you rent Game Ready from someone else, make sure they give you a new sleeve. We put a new sleeve on every rental.
What happens if it's damaged or lost?
You're responsible for the unit from delivery until it's returned. Damage beyond normal wear, or loss, may lead to repair or replacement charges. See our terms of rental for details.
About Game Ready
What is Game Ready and how does it work?
Game Ready is a cold and compression therapy system that helps reduce pain and swelling after surgery or injury. It combines two proven treatments, cold and compression, in one wrap, using what Game Ready calls Active Compression and Cold (ACC) technology.
How it works
- The control unit is filled with ice and water. It pumps the cold water through the wrap and back again, so the cold stays constant for the whole session instead of warming up like an ice pack.
- Each wrap has two chambers: one for the circulating cold water and one for air. The wraps are shaped for each body part (knee, shoulder, hip, ankle and more), so the cold and pressure are spread evenly around the area.
- Cooling lowers the temperature of the tissue. This helps ease pain and limit swelling and inflammation after surgery or injury.
- Active compression means the air chamber inflates and deflates in a cycle, rather than applying constant pressure like a bandage. This gentle pumping is designed to mimic natural muscle contractions, helping move swelling away from the area. It also presses the cold closer to your body, so the cooling reaches deeper.
- You control the settings. You can adjust the temperature and choose the compression level, or turn compression off and use cold only, as your clinician advises.
How it relates to RICE
RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is the standard first-aid approach to soft tissue injuries. Game Ready delivers the Ice and Compression parts together, at a controlled temperature and pressure, and far more consistently than an ice pack and bandage. For best results, keep resting and elevating the injured area during your sessions, and follow your surgeon or physiotherapist's advice.
Who uses Game Ready?
It's used by people recovering from orthopaedic surgery (such as ACL reconstruction, total knee replacement, or shoulder, hip and ankle surgery), athletes with acute injuries, and people managing ongoing pain or swelling.
