1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on gamereadyireland.ie, which is run by Platform20. For how we handle personal information more generally, see our privacy policy.
2. Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies from the Meta pixel. The choices are "Accept" and "Reject", and neither is selected for you. If you do nothing, the Meta pixel stays off and no Meta cookies are set.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or change your cookie choice here. Your choice is remembered on your device for 12 months, then we ask again.
3. Cookies that are always set
We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage (an item called gr-cookie-consent) so that we don't ask you on every page. It stays on your device for up to 12 months and is not shared with anyone. This is needed for the site to respect your choice, so it is set whether you accept or reject.
4. Cookies set only if you accept: the Meta pixel
If you click "Accept", we load the Meta pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It lets us see how many people contact us after seeing our Facebook and Instagram adverts, and helps Meta show our adverts to people more likely to be interested. When you accept, the pixel records that you viewed a page, and that you phoned us, emailed us or sent an enquiry through the site (a "Contact" event). We do not send any other information to Meta from the site. The pixel also passes Meta technical details that browsers send automatically, such as the page address, your browser type and your IP address.
The pixel uses these cookies:
- _fbp: set by us on gamereadyireland.ie. It gives your browser a random identifier so Meta can measure how our adverts perform. Lasts 90 days, and is renewed each time you visit.
- _fbc: set by us on gamereadyireland.ie, only if you arrive by clicking one of our Facebook or Instagram adverts. It records which advert click brought you here. Lasts 90 days.
- fr: set by Meta on facebook.com. It is used to deliver and measure adverts. Lasts 90 days.
If you have previously accepted and then change your mind, we remove the cookies we set on this site (_fbp and _fbc) and stop loading the pixel. Meta's own cookie (fr) is held on facebook.com, so to clear it use your browser settings or Meta's ad settings.
5. Our enquiry form (Tally)
The enquiry form on our Buy Game Ready page is provided by Tally BV, Belgium, and loads from tally.so. Using it connects your browser to Tally, which may store small items on your device to run the form. See Tally's privacy policy for what it sets.
6. Legal basis
We use the Meta pixel only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything done before you withdrew it.
